WELCOME & THANK YOU FOR VISITING!

Ebony Payne with Milky Oat Tops (Avena sativa) at Fox Haven Farm in Jefferson, MD.

Hello, my name is Ebony Payne (she/her) and I am a massage therapist turned clinical herbalist with a passion for healing and a decade of experience in the health and wellness field. After graduating from Potomac Massage Training Institute in 2011, I opened a private practice, Payne Therapy, in Washington DC where I was born, raised, and still reside.

After a few years of practice, I soon realized I needed a way to more deeply impact the health and well-being of my clients without needing to be physically present all the time. Thanks to a life changing experience with a cup of ginger tea, I realized herbal medicine could fulfill that need and I have been learning and working with plant medicine ever since.

District Herbs was founded in 2016, with the help of clinical herbalist, Claudia Joy Wingo, who served for many years as, what I like to call, “the brain behind our blends” helping to bring effective and great tasting herbal products to the community. District Herbs has since gone onto be recognized by the American Herbalist Guild for its Hemp Pain Salve winning Best Topical Product of 2019!

Since our founding, District Herbs has strived to be a leader in the art and science of herbal medicine with ethically sourced high quality herbs, and being stewards of this planet. Our values of honesty and integrity shape how we do business and care for our customers.

As for so many around the world, the year 2020 brought into focus the importance of a community based approach to healing and the need for everyone to do their part. District Herbs is proud to add a new goal to our mission. We are on a journey to take ethically sourcing our herbal ingredients to the next level by sourcing from regional herb farmers and growers as much as possible! This will not only support the local herbal economy but also bring more potent medicine to our community. I am proud to say that in the year 2021, we officially localized our very first medicinal herb and hint…it’s pictured and in our Adversi-Tea Adaptogen Blend!

This is only the beginning and you can visit @districtherbs on Instagram to follow us along on this journey!
